Does anyone know of a cheap way of jacking up the bike to achieve these ends without having to fork out the money for an abba frame?

A piece of rope and a strong crossbeam in the roof?

Seriously, you can improvise pretty well to get any end of the bike off the floor.

I used a car jack under the pipes for years to do work on the front end and it was fine. Rear end requires a couple of jacks or stands under the footpegs.

We don't have abba stands in Oz (and postage would not be viable!), they look like a great bit of gear.
