The bike just responds much better and it tips in very easy into corners. I feel just slightly more comfortable in my normal riding position too but I'm not sure if i'm just tripping or if I am feeling the slight rear end raise. Hmmmmm, either way, I am quite amazed of how such a small shim can change the setup of the bike.

Yes, I would recommend doing it. I spoke to a guy who used to raceboth VFR's and RVF's and he said that he and most other racers did it. I think that even for street use I would recommend that anyone do it - but that's just my 2 cents.

You canot fit a spacer to the NC30...but raising the ride height on them using the RVF dog bones is the usual (and easiest) way.
