NC24 Reg/Rec Upgrade
Looking to upgrade the reg/rec as I think it's fried (according to the previous owner). I have a Yamaha FZ600 one spare and a ZX9R one too. Will either of these be OK to use?

Re: NC24 Reg/Rec Upgrade
If there 5 pin they should be ok.
You need +v / -ve and the 3 altenator wires.
The R6 is a good reg-rec.
Some of the kawasaki ones have extra wires for headlights etc.
The NC24 has two red and green wires so you'll need to join both reds to each other and both greens to each other as the r/r unit will only have 1 live and neutral pin

Re: NC24 Reg/Rec Upgrade
I have a 7 pin FZR600 reg/rec in my spares cavern.
My NC24 has the three yellow wires, two green and two red/white.

It looks like the reg/rec has already been upgraded once but the previous owner thinks it may be duff so I'm going to replace it anyway.

These are the wires on my FZR reg/rec. Three yellows, thick red, thick black, thin brown and thin green.

Any thoughts on the supply connections?

Re: NC24 Reg/Rec Upgrade
I dont' tihnk that'll work.
You need a 5 pin reg.rec
the ones with more pins alter the voltage of the reg-rec when the headlights are turned on.
You can pick up an R6 reg/rec for around £20.00
Might be worth testing the one you have, if theres nothing wrong with it shame to waste money.

Re: NC24 Reg/Rec Upgrade
Is there any particular reason the big H put two green and two red/white wires on then?

Re: NC24 Reg/Rec Upgrade
It was taken off the NC30, just to balance the load between wires I believe. Had mine joined together on an R6 reg/rec for about 12 months now and no problems at all
