Hello people. I have a following problem regarding my nc29:
I don't use the bike over the whole year, only few weeks in the summer. That means that the bike is standing in a garage most of the time. It has now 31000 km, first chain and clutch. New sparkplugs.
Last summer i changed the oil and drove the bike without any problems. But this summer i noticed sth strange. I started the bike and let it run on idle, to warm up the oil. I revved the engine and didn't hear anything strange. When I put the 1st gear and started accelarating, I heard a ticking/clicking noise around 2500 - 3500 rpm. The noise disappears at higher revs. I couldn't localise the noise. When the bike is cold and I start riding, the noise is not there. It's also not there when I turn off the warm bike, turn it on after few minutes and start riding. The noise appears later, after few minutes of riding. What I also noticed is a somehow poor power at these revs. I don't remember it was like that before. It accelarates bad (ropey) till 3500 rpms. After that it accelarates normally again.
As already said, in neutral there is no ticking over the whole rpm range. The engine sounds normally. The sound appears only under load.
Does anybody know what it could be? Maybe the chain or the clutch?
Thx in advance.

You really need to locate where the noise is coming from if you can.

Could well be a knackered wheel bearing if its stood in one place for long periods of time....but as Wozza says we really need to know where the noise is coming from

Re: Ticking/clicking sound while driving.
The bike stood on the paddocks (front and rear) so it shouldn't be the wheel bearing. The sound appeared to come from the engine area but I couldn't locate it exactely while driving. Unfortunately, I didn't run the bike on the rear paddock in order to locate the noise. Now the bike stands still again in another country so I can't check it.
I just thought that maybe somebody had a similar problem and could tell me what to look after. Cheers.
