What shock have I got?

Post by Man_Named_Dave » Sat Aug 21, 2010 2:05 pm

Hi guys,

I was wondering if you might be able to help me.

My NC30 is a K model but it doesn't have the standard shock as, according to my Haynes, it would be numbered 1-6.
Mine has the numbers 1-7 on the outside twice, ie it goes 1-7 and then 1-7 again to go the full circumference. Do you have any idea what this shock is? Or what size and type of C-Spanner I should buy?

Unfortunately I don't have my tools so I can't get in there to have a proper look, all I know is that it's a Showa.

I'll try to get a pic up later this week.

Thats just a standard shock mate, 1-7 twice across the top. Get the biggest c-spanner you can get in there as they are a bitch to rotate.

Cheers, Ibby- it does indeed like an absolute swine to move! Do you think a 3" like this will do the trick?

Thats looks a good one, I reckon it would fit in the gap. Bloody expensive though. But it will last a long time.

Have a look on ebay maybe get a 2nd hand one.
