There's a 17" on Aus eBay at the moment - they go for a premium over 18"s though, so don't hold your breath for a cheap one.Mananon wrote:Should be able to get one out of Aussie though.

There's two I think but stupidly expensive, and then there's freight.
Mad to think I could buy one from the other side of the planet and transport it here for less than I can buy one localy. Not uncommon here to see second hand parts listed at a higher prices than brand new OE!

True that. You could pick up a Magtek or similar shipped from Japan for only slightly more (if only race rules permitted!)! Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with 18"s for road or track. A lot of racer's run 090s (including me) or Alphas which are both available for 18"s. Plus slicks and wets are available for 18"s too. Tyre selection is the least of my issues for the track - I'd be fooling myself if I thought tyres were the reason that I was slowMananon wrote:There's two I think but stupidly expensive, and then there's freight.

I'll probably stick with the 18 for now Superlite, at least till a 17 apears locally. I've got more than enough bits to buy and fit and the 18 I've got has a good tyre on it. Like you say though, tyre choice is not a key issue when the likes of Stephen Hawkin is a faster rider than me.
If you do see a decent rear shock up for grabs across the ditch I'd be keen. Really needs to be less than AU$500 though or I'll need a note from my mum before the wife will let me at the piggy bank.
