NC35 CDI connection

Post by skinnydog0_0 » Wed Jul 21, 2010 6:21 pm

Hi all,

I had an issue with my 35 running like it was in limp home mode?
I had not had this issue before as i was using a different CDI. When i put the original CDI unit back in it ran fine went out for a good run, then noticed about 20 mins later that it was sluggish.
I took the CDI off and noticed that the little metal tube connector in the loom CDI block had been pushed down into the block and the CDI pin wasn't connected.

Is it possible to get a new block to fit on the loom, or can i somehow fix the one i have?
I have managed to get the tube back to near the right position, but it is still not connecting 100%

Cheers

The only place that I know of to get them is off another loom.

Many hondas use the sameplug so you should be able to findone pretty cheap. Cut yours off and solder the new one on.

I have a chopped up loom you can have for £15 posted. It still has a good CDI plug and reg/rec plug.

There is a special tool for removing the wires from the block.Go to maplins and buy a new pin for the end of the wire and job done.Seems a bit drastic to cut it off just for one wire.
