Re: HDI lights
If its turning on and then turning itself off of its own accord, it must be broken ? The ballast must be duff.

Its broken. Buy cheap - buy twice comes to mind. Not that it is very helpful in this situation.
If your not turning it off and it goes off by itself once the lamp is struck, what else could it be ?

i really think you have duff balasts there pal,dr_46 wrote:i dont know what i did to the ballas but i opened it and closed it up and it works.....now because i have 2 of them going at once it drains my baterry can anyone help?
once ignited discharge lighting uses less current and power than a standard incandescent halogen lamp,
so unless you battery and reg/rec and alternator arnt up to the job id hazzard a guess to say the ballast is a dud.
id consider buying a better set, i briefly read through this just, and judging by the buzzing sound you mentioned id guess they arent filtered and therefore will cause massive interferance with other peoples radios etc, and some occasions mobile phones, and the cheap ones tend to be crap on bumps! ive been there.
hope this helps a little
