Have a stuffed up my fork?

Hi all,

I have been giving my forks and overhaul with new seals, bushes and a RO Kit.
First one went fine and is back on the bike, though the second is a different story.

Due to my torque wrench not on full lock i managed to over tighten the damper rod bolt.
I assembled it back but its slowly leaking oil from the bottom.

Ive removed all the internals though the damper rod bolt is just spinning and not budging!
Im guessing its stripped the thread on the bolt or damper
Have a truly stuffed up one fork? Do i need a new whole fork assembly?

Any tips in the right direction would be great.
