NC30 front ride height

Post by banoffee » Mon Jul 05, 2010 11:36 am

How much fork top should be poking through as standard? (89 model)

Wondering if mine were raised (i.e. front end of bike lowered) by a previous owner as a fair bit showing through.

Pretty sure, they're supposed to be flush (or close to it) with the top yoke.

How much have you got protruding? I run 6 mm through the yoke with a raised rear which feels a bit on the aggressive side to me.

I think it's about 7mm incl the top and definitely more than the top cap showing. have raised the rear too and thinking it's a bit too quick now that I've got the taller 090s on.

manual shows/implies that a couple of mm incl the cap should be showing through as there is a ring on the fork that should be just visible below the clip on.

have set mine to this and going to give it a go.

The ring on the fork should have a spring in it - a failsafe to stop your clipons sliding down the stanchions.

it does have something in it (not had the forks off but think I know what you mean). It's now just visible which seems to match what's in the Honda w/s manual. Ta.
