Please can some one list the voltage values for the Reg and Gen and any other common failing components that i would need to test with in the the ignition / charging system.
Thank you for your help, and i'm off out to try and buy a multi-meter here in Thailand, wish me luck with my limited Thai lol :D

Follow that through....
50v AC @ 5000rpm from each yellow wire (plug disconnected)
13.8 - 14.4v @ battery (check it at idle / 5000rpm)
Resistance 0.1 - 1.0 ohm between yellow wires.
no reistance between yellow wires and earth.
