Just for comparison on:

CBR600RR 2005:
Trail: 95mm (3.7 inches).
Wheelbase:54.5 inches
Stability index: 6.79

CBR600RR 2009:
Trail: 97,7mm (3.8 inches).
Wheelbase: 53,6 inches
Stability index: 7.09

NB: Value of traill devided to wheelbase give you stability index. Generally sportbikes has about 6,2 R1 to 6,4 against 7,2 on tourist bikes. This is just FYI. So, that why you feel honda cbr is more friendly, but less sporty than R1.
