Need dyno result for lightened, balanced, knife edged crank.

Post by PARUS » Sun Mar 14, 2010 10:15 pm

Guys,

We're having duscussion hear about reasonality of lightening\balancing\knife edging crank. I have read greggo topic about race engine, but unfortunatelly he split his engine now. Will be appreciate any dyno result for race engine with\without knife edged crank. I would like to check how changed power and torque moment after such modyfications. Or maybe personal opion about this. So, any information will be helpfull.

Thank you.

well, i done other mods at the same time. my understanding is that it doesn't add hp or atleast a significant increase. the lighter the mass the faster it spins. from riding it revs up faster. accellerates faster. power is delivered more agressive rather then progressional. like a light switch. makes riding in the rain worse or atleast you cant ride the bike the same way. race starts depends on how much mass you take off. we didn't go over board with my crank so taking off was improved. personally i think we could have doubled what we took off and it would still be fine.
