Coolant Change

Post by frank » Tue Feb 16, 2010 1:12 pm

Just wondering if anybody has changed the coolant in their SuperFour. I want to do mine as i have never done it since buying the bike. Im asuming its simple enough but any tips or potential pitfalls would be appreciated

When I change mine I just removed the lower hose from the waterpump.
When you come to refill make sure the coolant is silicate free mix with distilled water 50/50 mix.
I used carplan antifreeze.
Might be an idea to flush out the system first while you are at it before filling with the correct coolant. Jack

All good tips.
First take the cap of the coolant filler (on my bike that sits on the right behind the side cover).
Undo one of the nuts on the pump (the lowest) and the fluid squirts out. Flush the system a few times with water, even run the motor a bit. Make sure to clean out the overflow reservoir too.
Cheers, Mansie
