tail unit question
hi all have seen stories of fitting tail units from suzuki gsxr 600 onto nc29s, how hard is it?, which year if any at all fit best what sort of work is involved, i dont mind a bit of cutting and welding as long as its not too involved, what else needs to be done ie lights license plate etc i know of a 600 k7/k8 unit for sale locally, would that fit? cheers, jack

Re: tail unit question
If you're prepared to modify the subframe to suit then pretty much anything will fit, as for the lights you can connect pretty much any tail light to the stock wiring as long as you can identify which wire is ground, tail and brake. Then fit an aftermarket tail tidy with a plate light connected into the tail and ground wires and job's a good un.
The key thing is to get the subframe right in terms of mounting points for the new tail and seat, and be prepared to move some of the electronics elsewhere if they foul on the new tail.

Re: tail unit question
greggo has a K6 or K7 Gixxer tail on his race NC29, told me it was relatively easy. He's on hols in NZ at the mome, should be back around the 11th of Jan, I think. If you can wait, he's pretty helpful.

Yes, greggo did it. But he has to fabricate his own subframe. But as for me looks really nice...Pleiades wrote:greggo has a K6 or K7 Gixxer tail on his race NC29, told me it was relatively easy. Re: tail unit question
Sweet. Haven't seen his bike yet, other than on a YouTube video.
I do like the look of it, but think I'll stick with a Honda tail for mine. Trying to work out if a new CBR1000 tail would work. Have some stuff under the seat, but reckon it could just work...

Someone posted this a while ago, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... ink:top:en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I think this backend looks stunning. Not sure about the Ducati front though.
