I'm not sure what they are, I'd say that section wouldn't need any 'strengthening'.
I can only imagine they're there to create some turbulence at that point, that or a slight restriction.
You'd like to think Honda did it for a good reason . . .

I remember seeing a cut section of a rvf system a while back and that had baffle plates welded inside the last section of the system, the nc30 is probably similar.

I'm sure the 30's system has baffling in there as well, that's what the rectangular lumps are on the outsides I guess.

Yes, in the last section of an rvf/vfr genuine system there is indeed extra plating inside (regulations/baffle/restriction) etc. I have seen cutted versions too and all the inner plating removed and welded tight again so a little bit more sound and less restriction. Best to fit an aftermarket system, we all know a standard system is heavy on the scale.

This exhaust is listed here in nz - I currently have a yamamoto with a good bit of scuffing and sounding a bit like it needs repacking or something). I've had a search for a triangular nc30 end can and can't find anything - do you reckon its actually for an nc30, or has someone just jammed some random end can on it? Cheers! Let me know if the link doesn't work

Query regarding the Tyga Stainless exhaust for the NC30: http://tyga-performance.com/site/produc ... ts_id=1129

It says that it's "A tasty addition for your NC30/35 race exhaust system."
Now does this mean that it won't fit onto a standard cut system? IIRC the tyga systems have a narrower diameter than the factory one.
Does anyone know if it's possible to order one of these with a the 61mm ID required to put it on the standard cut system?

you need an adapter for pretty much any can onto the std cut system

New exhaust arrived. Ordered it as a custom job from Danmoto; a manufacturer in Hong Kong.
Luckily the specifications I sent them for the inlet (angle and diameter) were spot on, with the diameter of the muffler, it needed a 15 degree downward angle for the inlet pipe, with 61mm ID.
I told them there were no spring hooks, so they made the inlet pipe slotted and supplied a big stainless hose clamp to attach it with.

Custom made carbon fibre slip on for $170 NZD shipped (Around 82 GBP for you brits) is pretty good value!

Might have to get a silencer insert though, it's pretty loud.
