Post by AdamD81 » Tue Aug 18, 2020 4:20 pm

Hi everyone,
Been trying to find out the exact Honda colour Code of the grey/silver of the side panels on my new CB400 version r. I know the main colour is Pearl Lively orange. Any help greatly appreciate.

Well I've just had a search around and couldn't find it. No help to you whatsoever but at least someone (me) tried. You will know your Pearl Lively Orange is YR-179P but I can't find any mention of the grey/silver side panels. www.vsource.org lists just about all Honda bike paint codes but is only any good if you know the name of the colour. A shame you haven't had a better response (any response!) from the few forum members who occasionally log in.

Could you not take a panel to a local good paint shop and ask them to find the colour and mix you up a batch as paint does fade over time so for example brilliant red 20 years ago will have faded to a more rouge red with time

Actually that's a good idea. Why didn't I think of that. I've just had a call from the chap painting an NC35 panel for me. I'd taken along another, repainted panel from the opposite side of the bike, AFTER he'd done the painting, so he could get a better idea of how to position the stickers. It seems the Ross White he has used is a different shade of Ross White. Not his fault, he simply ordered the paint code NH196 I had given him. So he's going to colour match and repaint the panel he's just done. Yes, of course it will cost me more but hey, ho. These bikes are money pits if you let them be.

Woohoo i had a good idea, i do occasionally have them but not to often😆
The bikes will cost you a fortune and it’s never a small one at that but if you like the bikes and want to keep it for many years it doesn’t matter

Quite agree. Many people have a hobby which can eat up a lot of their money, mine (or ours) happens to be bikes. A bit more exciting than stamp collecting.
