HRC Tank Protector - Will it fit?
Hi there guys,
I've just purchased an HRC branded tank protector (same as pictured below), but am not sure about the fit as the tank is curved on both axes - this would normally cause a crease along the edge.
Does anyone else have the same protector? And did you have any issues when fitting it?
Tyga stock the exact same protector (with the Honda 'wing' logo) in the VFR400 section of their site, so surely it fits right?!

I have the same protector, it wouldn't fit for me without the top part creasing or lifting in the middle.
I had to stick it down with some sealant stuff.

That's fine mate, thanks! Just wanted to see if anyone else had issues.
Do you think if it was lower (and you didn't use the bottom segment) it would fit the shape of the tank better?

Possibly, as it'd have less of a curve vertically to get around as well as the horizontal curve.
It'd be something to play about with placing it on the tank before sticking it down.

HRC Tank Protector - Will it fit?
Just got home and tried placing it at different heights on the tank, but nothing seems to work very well...
Will try sticking it down properly tomorrow, but if it doesn't work I will probably just use the bottom three segments - which will be a shame because I paid £18 for the HRC logo!

Re: HRC Tank Protector - Will it fit?
For anyone else who is interested in the future, the bottom three segments work perfectly with no creases!
I tried to put the top part on, but wasn't happy with the creases so took it back off...
Here's how it looks now:

Re: HRC Tank Protector - Will it fit?
Have only just seen this thread. I've got the same tank protector and don't remember having had any issues fitting it. Now it's got me wondering so I'll have to take a look when I get home!

Re: HRC Tank Protector - Will it fit?
Thanks for the heads up, I just spaced mine out a bit more by hand rather than keeping it on the plastic and it seems to have worked without any crinkles.
