NC29 Race Bike Project
After a year of watching my brother race in the NGRRC he (with little persuasion) has got me to start racing, all be it for one race. Licence is sorted, managed to find an absolute bargain nc29 (lets hope it doesn't let me down at thruxton). This will be my first race and i cannot wait to get on track.
Heres a picture of the bike, updates will come as the bikes transformed.
Wish me luck

Slight colour update on the bike. Gone for a dark blue colour all around, just waiting for the fairing to arrive.

Nice bet that exhaust is light! I had a similar one a few years back and it was incredibly light

Re: NC29 Race Bike Project
Well the weekend went so well for my first race. Had my first taste if wet tyres too which was quite fun for my first time on the bike and Thruxton. Luckily it dried up as the day went on
Without boring everyone i managed to get 12th in the f400 out of 16 and 11th in the pre injection out of 16.
More than happy with both results and already looking forward to next season.

Re: NC29 Race Bike Project
I thought i'd start this thread up again as its been a while since the last post!
So Not far off 2 Years on I've actually started racing again! and I'm thoroughly enjoying my first season with NGRRC.
The CBR had a lot of work done between racing at Thruxton in October 2014 to Brands Hatch March 2016.
Ended up changing the head on it (Managed to pick one up for £40) changed the rear shock/rear sets/fork oil/oil/grips/exhaust systems amongst a few other things.
We took the bike down to standard card settings to make sure it ran ok, which it did but i was getting left for dead in a straight line. Still even with that i managed a 7th (from the back) and 4th (from 5th) and also a crash at Paddock Hill!
Next round for me is Donington Park on the 7th on May and I cannot wait. Going to play about with the Carbs on the CBR to see if I can eliminate some of the slow speed/top end problems and also repair some of the crashed Fairings.

Re: NC29 Race Bike Project
Little update:
After crashing at Brands i've had a few repairs to do as the bike tumbled a few times, fortunately my crash bungs helped no end. Spent most of the weekend fibre-glassing the fairings and filling holes etc and preping for spraying.
For a fairly rushed job to get it done in time for Donington on the 8th of May its come out alright, im looking forward to seeing the fairings on the bike and fitting the new Micron End Can.
My Brother (ChowderV4) gave me alot of help as he's a seasoned crasher and had a lot of experiences fixing his fairings
Hopefully i wont throw it down craner curves as i dont think i'll be getting my bike back!
