Fairings from China/Hong Kong

They're meant to be shit, not line up correctly and the stickers are askew.

Those were exactly my findings after trying to fit some to my 954rr a couple of years ago.

But quality may have changed since then. For the price they might be worth it if your bike has very poor bodywork.

What would be good is some pics of the fairings fitted and perhaps during fitting, also China or Hong Kong which are best quality I know some mention they are ABS. how do they stand up to daily use etc.
Mines a 93 type 7 I think and would love an early RWB scheme.

The one on the gallery does look like a far east version and the owner says its plastic. So do we know who and where the average ones are from as they obviously won't be the best as only original are. For ride bys and stuff as long as they are appealing then whats the problem!!

might just do that in a week or two, im ordering the austin powers rossi repsol kit from hong-ping-pong-kong to shove on my bike while i repair and tart up my oem panels to somthing diffrent, (brooky how much for the AM/PM decals from the bike porn thread if you can do them)

I seen that style once on an NC and it looked awsome. I think getting the yank done if you are will come close to what you pay for the fairing!!! Let us know how you get on. Ta.

im gunna buy a second tank i think , ill prep and spray it myself ill see if i can get certain someone to do the decals for the tank and then give it a nice gloss coat,
already have the orange wheels as my bike is repsol colours already but is looking a little tired now , panels have broken lugs scratches and stuff so time for a face lift, was just gunna get a hong kong set of repsol and repair and sort a new scheme for the oem panels, but gunna go for the austin powers one , ill guess ill decide when i get to the point, probly come down to a flip of a coin

well my fairings have turned up from hong kong , ordered 24/2/10 and arrived via parcelforce this morning,(3/3/10) with no import duty to pay,
fairings cost me £150 (flea bay best offer) with £130 postage £280 total
first impressions are , paint looks ok, stickers seem to line up fine, finish is fine nice and glossy, first thing i noticed was a certain few lugs not molded to the fairings, ie the 2 dowels on the seat unit that sit in the subframe have not been molded on , and there are 2 lugs on the nosecone that the v-piece attach to below the indicators not there, but these i think can be overcome with a bit of plastex or summit, not giving me a headache yet,
no fixings come with the set and im currently awaiting a probolt fixing kit in black , however will still need various fixings like the chimney clips to go in the various places, and some heat matting to go in by the reg/rec and line the lower fairing, ( ive tried to take some pics but the batteries died so there on charge, ill try get some up before i start fitting them)
im off into town to see what fixings i can pick up from my local BS, also a trip to halfrauds to see if they can match the paint for me tank,
overall i can see that this wont be a straight bolt on type and some minor work arounds will be in order, ive test fitted the seat cowl sides to the bike and holes line up ok so far so thats half the the set i know should go ok,

heres a few pics of the side panels and lowers to go , ....






i think the finish is quite good , the same all over really ,
the nose cone has gone straight on the bike , no hassle with holes or owt screen fitted ok and mirrors too sono drilling or anything required,
After fiddling around with the tail unit , first off the H piece is crap ,no lugs for the lightmount inside , and the way it links to the side panels is diffrent, not a prob but not the same, a couple of the chimney clips sorted it out , the light cut outs are terrible my genuine one fits in there ok so i think ill buy another genuine one and colour match it eventually, , also the seat mounts need the holes widening as the holes were off to my seat,the holes were to close together and needed moving over by 10mm each way , a quick buzz with the dremmel fixed it , but will have to plastex it to to make it a bit more durable as the holes are massive now, ill post some pics of the seat and its faults tomoz when i get more time,
