Fairings from Hong Kong

I have seen some fairings for sale on Ebay, that are brand new with pre-drilled tabs, supposedly as new OEM fairing. Has anyone had any experience of these fairings (it seems to be a well organised shop on Ebay). I have heard the Chinese ones are to be avoided but does the same apply to Hong Kong? Also they would be shipped from the us and cost a fair amount, would there be import duties to be paid at customs as they are not manufactured in the UK?

Thanks

Ilch

i guess its hard to find OEM fairings, unless they said its from Honda. Otherwise, these fairings come from China. But i guess Honda stopped manufacturing panels for older models.

China made mc parts........most are bad products.

I have a set that I am currently fitting, the paint job is good, but the fit is rubbish, I have spent upwards of ten hours fitting them and they are a long way from perfect yet.

i have just fitted a set for my sister took me about four hours to strip and fit the new panels only problem i found was the front belly pan brackets needed to be changed to get the nose cone and side panels to meet up

Hi, with my recent run in with some bad Chinese parts I don't think I could afford to be disappointed buying rubbish again but when I did look into them I found moto77 to be the most helpful, I was after the Urban tiger paint job but was not satisfied with certain parts of it, he offered to change the colour/design to what I wanted, he also offered all tank decals and extra paint in the colour of my fairings for the tank, with a free screen thrown in. I nearly took up the offer but wanted to see some fairings from him first on a bike.

As far as I know you will have to pay VAT on delivery.

If you do get a set, bung some pictures up with a small review, it would be helpful to other owners wondering about these fairings.

i bought a set of these chinese fairing for my blade when i got knocked off last year, i decided i only wanted to use her for commuting so i was not prepared to spend a fortune on them, i have to agree with every that the fit is no where near perfect and some of the mounting points especially for lights were not moulded in, as you do get with oem parts.

again it took a hell of a long time to make them fit anywhere near perfect, but they have now been on for 12 months used through winter and summer and they are stil all in one piece paint does not look to have faded at all. i would say for the money not bad but you need some to have some common sense to fit these and make them look good.

below is my blade with konica minolta rep chinese fairings
