Paint scheme ideas...

Post by V4Chris » Wed Feb 25, 2009 11:50 pm

I have just been playing around with some ideas for paint schemes.

Just wanted some feedback, opinions, etc. on this:

I think it could work, it uses the same lines/shapes from original schemes, just not sure if all the white is going to be 'too' much?
Perhaps something to break up the main 'triangle'?
I tried some "VFR" decals, but that didn't really work.
Maybe it is the way I have painted it on, and would look better in real life?

You could probably get away with vfr decals if you kept with the monochrome feel... maybe just a black outline of vfr, and either white or silver/grey text?!? I think itd look mint with the triangle bit all 'flamey' like the type 6/7/8 schemes but im biased :P

I personally like simple designs, particularly when there is carbon bodywork involved - less is more! There was a very, very nice carbon fibre bodied Rvf on the old forum in smoking joes colours with areas of bare carbon fibre showing through which also looked fantastic.
Need any used Nc30 parts? Want to fit a Ducati front end to your Nc30? If so give me a shout.

mask vfr into the silver triangle in the standard position and peel them away ones sprayed, so u get vfr in carbon lettering

I like the idea. Mine went through several stages before I was satisfied I'd made the right design. For me, the paint work had to be very simple - it needed to work with white wheels and it had to follow the lines of the bodywork as closely as possible, but I also wanted it to look like a design Honda could have officially produced. It's interesting looking back at those development stages to my final design and then to how it was painted up in 3D. Unveiling those panels for the first time when I received them back, I knew I'd made the right choice.

Chris - I've looked through your website with much interest, it's an ace renovation; can't wait to see the final pics. I second Craig (Spike's idea sounds good).

Craig - Personally a huge fan of your bike the attention to detail shows through in the end result which is a real head turner and IMO amazing!

hi, sorry but where did you get that tail section for your nc30? its amazing! that paint scheme is perfect too. not too much white just enough contrast and the right proportions and the lines are perfect for disguising the fairing gaps. a bright silver would also look good instead of white but i'd stay with the white myself
