Tasteful??

Post by Carlos » Thu Jul 17, 2008 10:09 pm

Tasteful or not? I have a carbon tank protector I made some time ago, is it considered a tasteful item these days? High end or high street? practical or pityful?
Your turn to be Gok Wan guys, you decide. 8-)

as its carbon, not carbon effect, id say put it on.
because you do have other carbon parts on your bike, so it wont look out of place

I'm of the opinion that a tank pad shouldn't be a feature on the bike. I tend to 'camouflage' mine so that they're only visible if you look hard enough.

If the carbon tank pad's sitting on a dark area of paintwork, then would look pretty tasteful (as mentioned, has to be real carbon), any other colour, I'd try and make it invisible (or opt for some Venture Shield).

TASTEFUL..... it's a nesscessity...you can never have enough carbon ...

i hear what craig is saying and agree to a level, some tank pads are just pure wank, while other don't look too bad and carbon is one of them, hard wearing etc etc and it helps cover up a few blemishes (where other people have thought it would be a good idea not to have a tank pad and now it's like the moon !!)

but as simmo said ,unless it's the real deal don't bother ,an we know you love your carbon so i guess it's 100%

if any are made for the '30 give me a shout please
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....
