I've come over to V4 heaven

Post by Gullarm76 » Wed Jun 03, 2009 1:48 am

Hi

As you can probally tell from my screen name I used to have a NC29 but unfortunantly it was stolen. After much deliberation I decided an NC30 was the way forward and after riding the bike I know I have made the right choice.

It is completely different to the NC29, just feels more expensive and handles in a more confident and secure way. It does not seem as quick but definately is, it just does it without as much fuss!

Just a couple of questions.

I have taken the the seat plastics off and there is an aluminuim tank under the pillion seat with pipes conected to the top of the engine. I thought it could be an oil cooler but it is not a UK bike. Any idea what this could be?

When riding the bike shows a temperture of 90 but the whole thing seems to be hotter than this. the reason for saying this is the frame gets quite warm and I can feel the heat of the bike through my trousers! I have thought because the bike has so much confined in a small space, engine exhaust etc thjings would heat up. is this normal?

Anyway I am really pleased that I have made the switch to V4 power and plan to get the bike tidied up as it is starting to look like it is nineteen years old. I built my NC29 from the ground up and plan to do this over the winter with the NC30.

Thanks for your replies in advance.

It will be an oil catch tank, possible sign it is/was once a track bike? This isn't standard, a pic would be nice.

Yes they do get very warm when riding, it's normal for the small V4. You'll often see the temp needle creep up when going slowly in traffic, it should come back down a bit when you hit open road.
