NC30 specs vs NC35

Hi all,
I normally hang out in the cbr and gsxr section but I'm thinking about getting a V4 (had one briefly a couple of years ago and loved it). I'm sure this has probably been covered already but I can't fine it so please humour me. Besides the 17inch rear wheel, usd forks. Smaller carbs and bodywork what other differences between the 30 and 35 are there? Also how well does these bikes pop up on the rear wheel, I like a cheeky mono over helpful humpback bridges.

Only thing I would say is to be wary of the oil pickup being frontwards in the sump and so will be gulping fresh air if you are wheelying = poorly motor.

NC30 gearbox is taller first and closer ratios.

I've had both, well several each really and in standard trim theres not really much difference between the 2 other than the appearance and 1st gears, I've now settled with an nc30 with Rvf dogbone/knuckle linkage, Carbs, vfr750 17" rear wheel and Ducati 996 forks/wheel etc and in my opinion this really is the way to go. The Rvf forks have the same internals as the late spec 30s so it is purely a styling issue whereas the 996 front end really does make a huge difference to both handling and braking power. When it comes down to it they are both great bikes the most important thing is to make sure the bike has been well cared for.

Hi thanks for the answers, I'd hope if I got another 1 that I wouldn't spend enough time on the back wheel to do enough damage. I just like the buzz I get lofting one over the crest of bumps etc not massive long mono's. As on my cbr most mono's are in 3rd gear I suppose the gear spacings of 1st and 2nd don.t really matter.
Rilley-I'd definetly want a usd front end though. Do you have to re-spring the 996 forks to suit the nc30?

No the forks don't need revalving just the preload turned down a touch, we will have 2 more nc30s with ducati front ends finished by the end of the month rolling around Gloucester - within a few weeks we should be able to offer some frorm of set up advice on the ducati forks for different weighted riders, I'm about 14 stone so about 15 stone in kit, Murray is about 13 stone in riding gear and Jason is about 12 1/2 stone in kit. I can supply a fitting kit and between the 3 of us we have spare yokes and forks if needed, we will also be able to offer front wheel spacers too (so as that you don't need to buy an unneccessary speedo drive).

that sounds good, what other rear wheels fit then, you have a vfr750 will a 5 spoke off a 996 fit???

There is a member called Smev on here who had a 916 rep and fitted a Ducati rear wheel although I believe (I may be wrong) that it put the front and rear wheels out of alignment. I do have a couple of modified rear hubs to accept the vfr750fr rear wheel available also if you would like to go down that route.

Riley, whats involved in fitting ducati forks to a NC35? can the kit that you do be modified to work and does it still use the nc wheel?

Are there any other patterns of vfr750 wheels that fit I'd prefer a 5 spoke but straight spokes like the duke not curved like your one?
