The reason for the cooler & uprated oil pump were simple.....

What was the NC30 doing in the UK in the early 90s with a price tag exceeding the mighty flagship CBR1000F.....? Racing pure and simple.

The NCs place in the UK market at that time was in the supersport class at the TT and the cooler combined with the uprated pump helped give it an easier time while flying over the mountain circuit.

Anyone else just bought an RS250 and stayed clear of the expensive 4stroke road bike :geek: (until the market made the Grey route profitable! )

I'v been reading through this thread again,
And noticed that the frame No on my bike was, 2000046.So i take it that my bike was the 46th bike off the line
And dave arsey30 Frame No was, 200032?

My bike was registered in march 1990.
Daves bike was registered june 1990. So there were approx 280 registered in three month's of that year alone.

The oil-pump wasn't uprated though, it was just the old NC24 oil pump, (the older NC13E engine based model that already had an oil-cooler as standard. Although the 24 is inferoir in components compraed to the later 30 at the time it was the first road going VFR with the single sided swining arm, a direct descendant of the RVF400 HRC race bike, which is probably why it had an oil cooler, as they don't get very warm.)

I thought it may be a marketing ploy for the UK/Euro market.

The ZXR400 was also an official UK model at the time and competitor which did have an oil cooler, perhaps Honda didn't want to give Kawasaki or there fans a marketing spot for there bike?

I think all of the other changes, subframe, exhaust, lights and mirriors and bodywork shapes were just for the extra few PS on the marketing sheet and UK lighting regs.

Hi all, i'm new on here but i'm looking aound at the moment for either a NC30 or 35. It must be a UK official bike and i'm quite happy about the NC30 but can anyone point me in the right direction regarding the NC35? Were they all grey imports from Japan or did they also get officially imported by Honda UK..? If so how can i tell as it's too easy to swap the clocks from a kph to a mph one.. Cheers

So dose this obviously mean that uk Bike parts won't for jap spec bikes? I think I have already run in to a problem cores my right Handel bar feels diffrent to my left! Also wot parts are more reliable uk parts or jap imports?
