Guys its not as simple as that is it ? the UK bike has a different oil pump to cope with the extra circuit. also the fittings in the cases, and lines and cooler.
However the extra 100/200ml odd of oil does seem to make a difference to the cooling of the bike overall.

No idea why it was deemed needed for the UK bikes though, prob to try and justify the extortionate price tag

Well the Oil pump is the same pump as used in the NC24 (which also has oil cooler) (identical part #) I reckon the bottom case is probably the same as the NC24 too although i've never had two side by side to check and seeing as the cases come in a set the part numbers are different.

Has anyone got the microfiche / pictures of the UK spec Oil cooler for the NC30, i've never actually seen one.

The NC24 oil cooler is a lot smaller than the one on my ZXR... but works well for the bike. I've never gotten the bike very hot apart from a loooong summers day idling

mines a K plate and the number ends higher than 0280 but less than 0290
What makes you think there's less ? Be nice to get some factual figures from the big H

They are rare thats true but not that rare. i have seen quite a few on ebay appear over the years, crashed, repaired, converted to track, and the little plate is the giveaway. granted all the uk bits might have been smashed off and the owners dont know its a uk bike, but they do surface more often than not.
However good ones that are original, and complete with all the bits and books are thin on the ground. actually very thin on the ground.
I wonder how many UK spec bikes were converted to race bikes from the start ? loads i bet

I guess the Honda dealers wern't sure how many they would sell in the UK, espeically when you consider they were the same price as most 750's of the time!

Or the dealer could have been making it out to be rarer than it is trying to get a possible sale.

Theres probably a couple of thousand or more. Doesn't Honda release sales figures?

I've never ever seen a uk chassis number over 500, never mind 1000 or 2000+

I do know however Honda only list upto chassis 2000579 on the VFR400R3L, and upto 2101267 on the VFR400R3M UK bikes, however to correct me wrong i think they were 'odd' numbers for the uk and 'even' numbers for the rest of europe
..........So 579 and 1267 = 1846 /2 = 923.............lets say thers 25% left.........230 left maybe??????

Thats my educated guess!!!!!!!!
