removal of quietning gear
hey guys. iv been reading around in the forums and iv been hearing alot about this quietning gear thing,what i would lik to know is what are the benefits of removing them.do they make a diference to power or do they just give of a beter noise,and if i were to go about removing them how would i .ima newbie just tryn to learn more. thanx.

The gear driven cams have a tensioner on them which always keeps a bit of load on them to keep the valve gear noise down, this load zaps a tiny amount of power from the engine, if you remove it the bike sounds like a bag of spanners when its idling (well not that bad, but you get the idea)
It's not too dificult to do but time consuming due to the engine being hard to reach without removing half the bike first.
