NC24 Rear Shock

I'm restoring my 1988 NC24 here in Florida, originally Japanese it's spent most of it's like in UK where it suffered it's share of bodges.
Has anyone any experience of YSS Z-Series Monoshocks? They are available for the bike in USA for around $325 here which seems pretty reasonable WEMOTO also keep them. They are Thailand manufactured and seem to be kosher.
RACETECH in California think they can make a seal kit and/or completely restore with better spring etc if they have a look at it. They are great source of rebuild parts for all kinds of bike suspensions.
I acquired a 2004 CBR600RR shock which I believe would fit with some shims, the reservoir might interfere so that's an avenue me to have a look at for curiosity when I have it all apart.
