Hi, although this is for an NC29 i note the NC35 has the same fan. Due to a bigger knowledge base here I was wondering if anyone knows what the extra wire coming off the fan is for? I tried looking at the wiring diagrams but cant work it out. My later model 29 has the same fan where as the earlier 29 Has the same fan as the 30.

Any help appreciated.

No its not that one, it comes out of the fan and has a plastic protector over a spade connector. The NC30 has one plugged cable plus the earth cable and the nc35/ later 29 has this extra connector. I cant get to my bike until Friday to see what colour the cable is and thought someone here might know.

Your description of the NC29/NC35 fan plug you have does not match my wiring diagram, nor the wiring of an NC29 RR L/N. Can you provide more detail.

Hi magg, if you check out the picture in the fiche for the 35 and 29-R model you will see they have the fan motor with the extra wire, marked 3. Where as the 30 and 29 L/N do not. Thats the wire im trying to work out what its for. The wiring diagram does not seem to show this from what i can see.

Suspect it is a ground wire that connects to the radiator, for the fan temp switch. The radiator/fan unit I believe is rubber mounted to the engine, hence the need for an earth wire.

Just to finish this off, I finally got to my bike today and Im servicing a few parts and noticed it is the radiator fan temp switch, single wire that plugs into the unit. All I can suggest not knowing for sure is that this temp switch on the nc30/early29s must have this wire coming from the loom.
