Rear brake discs + pads + paddock stand recommendation

Post by FluxCo » Sun Mar 05, 2017 11:11 pm

Hello everyone.

I need to replace the rear brake disc and pads on my NC30. Do you guys have any budget conscious / value for money recommendations?

Having worked on my cars for many years I have the tools, but not a paddock stand. I have been looking at Abba stand but they are quite a bit more than I want to spend. Can you guys recommend me a single sided paddock stands that is good value for money?

Thanks peeps.

Abba stand is the best for this work, however, as you rightly say, expensive.
Demon Tweaks sell a single sided paddock stand for the NC30 (fits NC35 too).

As above abba stand best but if your budget doesnt stretch and you have axle stands from working on cars with assistance and care a stand each side under footrest mounts at point where peg bracket goes through alloy hangers. Or bike on side stand and a stand under swinging arm with wheel removed .
Both the above are less than ideal but work if careful.
Assuming that you already already have the tools its prudent to strip rear hub bearing adjuster out clean crap out of swinging arm and regrease wheel bearing when replacing disc anyway.

Thanks chaps, I think I am going to go with the single sided paddock from demontweeks, they have it advertised at £55 delivered.

Does any one have any recommendation for rear disk and pads?

Demon Thieves were doing a deal on front and rear stands as a pair whch worked out substantially cheaper than buying them seperately. i think it was the Warrior ones.

Thanks again for your replies peeps.

Discs and pads from Rick arrived today. Going to pick up the paddock stand from DemonTweeks from ParcelForce depot on saturday.

Hopefully, the weather is good this weekend so I can get on with replacing the disc and pads.
