Quick question. Do thes pistons increase static compression ratio or is it just the capacity increase?

Cheers
Luke
Hi Luke;

Yes the Pistons bump the compression up to around high 12:1 s without skimming the heads and around 14:1 with 0.5mm skimmed heads. That said, we still run 91 octane pump gas with skimmed heads.

I need to place the order Monday. Let me know if you want in ASAP.

Cheers,

Hi Everyone!

I am really sorry for the delays in getting back to you. This order has not gone well. When I originally posted that I was putting together the very last order, because it is so difficult to manage the orders, deposits, payments, shipments, etc. it is a huge hassle and I don't make any money at all from these rods to cover my time.

Well, this order is even worse. I had 12 people state they were "SERIOUS" and wanted these pistons. But, when it came time to collect money, only 5 people stepped up. Several still promised to send payment, and never did. Some of those people are "highly respected" 400 Greybike members that also sell parts to this community. So, I would have thought they-of all people- would have understood the importance of following up on their word, and sending payment right away. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of people's respect for their own word. I strongly believe that, "your word is your bond".

With only 5 serious commitments (shown by putting their money where their mouths were) at this time, the prices of the pistons will be higher than I quoted. I do not know how much yet as I have not asked Cosworth for a new quote. I will guess between 100~200GBP more per set. But, until I have a solid number to quote upon, that is simply a guess.

With this information, how many people that have given deposits are still interested in moving forward? If you are not interested in moving forward, I will scrap the whole order process and refund everyone who paid their money. Sadly, this will be less any PayPal fees that I was charged, or that may be charged when sending the money back. Please don't get upset at me. Get upset at those 400Greybike members that promised to buy sets, and then backed out when it came time to pay. This is really a very big disappointment to me from the forum that helped me so much when I needed it.

I am eagerly standing by with your replies.

I'm definitely in for a set. This is the last chance to get these lovely gems and I don't want to miss out.

I'm kind of feeling this isn't going to happen. Now onto 65mm pistons and more serious power gains. No replacement for displacement, how about a 600cc nc30/35 with 120-150rwhp?

Mike,

Any ideas if this is still going ahead?
Been really bust with work & life in general do only on infrequently.
Kids' birthdays & Christmas coming up & could use the money back if this is a no-go.
I may be back in again when ready to go forward.
Please can you let us know asap?
Thanks!

Shame, really after all that initial interest from so many.
Thanks again for all the work on these 400's & for 400GB over the years. Don't lose heart & keep up the amazing engineering!

The Cosworth pistons have been made - I have 4 sets here, the rest are with G-Force in the States.

Mike Norman is giving the finished product a thorough check over and as long as he is happy with them they will be released for sale in a few days...
