With the current issues with modern petrol's shelf life, I've started thinking about keeping both my bikes with empty tanks and carbs during any significant period of non-use. My Yamaha stroker is no problem as I can turn off the tap, let it run the carb dry, and then syphon the tank out. It's got a simple tap so the carb will easily refill when I come to re-fill and start it.
The Superfour might be a problem though, as on refilling with fresh fuel, it's not going to gravity feed through to the carbs due to the vacuum diaphram in the tap. Is it sufficient to just keep it cranking on the starter until the carbs fill, and is there going to be enough engine vacuum at cranking speeds to make this happen?
Does anyone have any experience of doing this please? Or is there a better way?

Just crank the bike for a couple of seconds and wait 2-3 minutes for the float bowls to fill up, no problem at all

You could also replace the vacuum hose with a piece of hose on the fuel tap vacuum point and suck until the carbs are full then replace the normal hose all the best rick
