NC30 HRC camshaft copies
Right yakama has found a company local to me that are willing to to make copies of my HRC cams, I'm not going to start a group buy type thing on this as I doubt there's any discount to be had unless we order 20+ sets which isn't going to happen but I'm just throwing the this idea out for those few that might be interested. Rough price discussed so far is £800 a set of 4 cams, the company is local to me so there will only be postage costs from myself to you until less you wanted to collect.
Depending on how many want a set I could maybe talk a discount on them so if your genuinely interested in a set then jump onboard.

Pretty sure his are his own spec rather than HRC spec, most likely better to be fair but these are aimed at us nerds wanting HRC spec cams.

Re: NC30 HRC camshaft copies
800 is some serious coin. Are these reground stock cams or complete replacements?
I got mine back (finally after a lot of faffing about with a dodgy slotted cam kit), but am really reluctant to offer to do some for anyone else as it has taken a lot of time/money and effort to get to this point and I don't want to go through it again!

Yes it is a lot of coin although this is the first company thats said they can do it so as yet there is'nt a lot of choice
Camshafts will be complete new units made from EN40 B Nitrided and not reground originals.
Luke, so you have some reground originals to HRC spec? and you've had them slotted aswell?

Re: NC30 HRC camshaft copies
I have some reground originals, but to what spec, I am not 100% sure. I was told they are HRC and I trust the source, but until I get a DTI on there, I won't know! I know that they have an asymmetrical profile (not sure if the F3 ones do), but since they are reground from originals, I am waiting on thicker shims now before I can install them and see. End of the day, I don't really care if they are HRC F3 spec; I'm just looking for performance cams/increase but I know you guys are after that spec specifically.Drunkn Munky wrote: Luke, so you have some reground originals to HRC spec? and you've had them slotted aswell?
I had them done last year, but then couldn't degree them where I wanted to as they needed to be slotted (or have the gears pressed on in the correct place). That was the start of a painful mission and I literally picked them up about 2 weekends ago in a useable state.
800 for completely new cams isn't actually the expensive. In my instance, these regrinds have cost me just under 500 pounds (but that was mostly the frickin slotted kit...don't get me started....

That's a big chuck of coin! Any idea what type of gains you'd get from these?

Re: NC30 HRC camshaft copies
As Tony says HRC rods and pistons are needed to go with the cams. Unless you want to start machining deeper valve pockets on stock piston crownsDrunkn Munky wrote:Pretty much sod all unless you have the rest if the engine kit parts
Would love to get involved with this but its far too rich for me at the moment
