NOS NC30 Exhaust?!

Post by Marcos » Tue Mar 12, 2013 2:35 pm

I've just picked up this NC30 exhaust from Ebay for my old NC30 as mine needs some new clamps and is just too loud (Scorpion carbon can) and it doesn't even look like it's been on a bike?!

I paid £86, I'm happy. Are these still being made?

That is a bargain. Looks really nice and they are bloody silent if you don't like the noise!

Not NOS. the female collars that the front down pipes slide in to, look to be non-original.

But yes i'm jealous. Very smart example

Now you just need the rectangular guard that goes on those clips on your muffler.

I've still got an original can I cut off the bike 15 years ago when I fitted the Scorpion, I can use the guard off that if it'll come off.
The only downside is it is heavy compared to an aftermarket can and will be very quiet but I'm sure my wife and neighbours will approve at six in the morning! I think it would be sacrilege to take a hacksaw to it though. I'll attack it with some Autosol before it goes on, should come up nicely.

I have an original on my bike thats like that too, when it came i was speechless. not a mark on it or a scratch.

That plate your missing does come off. becareful of the clips that hold it on as you can break them but it slides of.. you can see if you look at the missing one how it fits on.

Really quiet, depending on how the bike is jetted etc but my bike feels 10x faster and freer with a half system than wiht the stock system but the stock system is so much quieter aha.

Part of me would like to put my can on it but it feels just wrong to cut it up and the Scorpion would be too loud. I didn't mind it so much in my early twenties, I'm in my late thirties now!

You can get cut systems for pennies if you want a different can.

Don't cut that system up, find a plate for it and you could easily sell it for big money to someone building a bike to original spec :peace:
