CB1 engine into NC23?

Post by micpec » Sat Jan 12, 2013 10:36 pm

Hi all,

Not posting much on the cbr section, but my bro owns an NC23 and we are wondering if an CB1 engine fits in an NC23 frame...? Thats a lower powered cb modern version overhere. And what about an NC29 engine into NC23 frame?

CB-1 is the nc27, that engine won't go in as the top mount is different. You can fit it, but missing the top mount bolt.

The modern version is the CB400 superfour, nc31 or nc39 (IIRC). That is completely different with a camchain, side draught carbs, etc.

I ended up accidentaly getting an CB1 engine (even though marked NC23, including the NC29 motors)
As above says top mount aint the same. Also the carbs on mine i think were 11 inchs accross, from inlet to inet (1-4) and on the engine they were 10.5, so carbs woulden't fit.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. It crossed my mind a while back, could buy a cheap rolling nc23 chassis hence my question for cb1 engine.
