nc23 radiator options

Went for a decent ride out today and on the way home noticed the temp creeping up - appears the rad is leaking and whoever had the bike before put some radgunk or something in it to seal it but its now given up and sprayed all over the place..

Wondering if there are any other options to fit the nc23 - in road trim.

otherwise whats the best option, risk a second hand one or see about a recondition - anyone know what a recon of mine would cost?

I've fitted both ZXR400 (which is massive) and Blade RRW and at the moment a NSR MC21 rads to a 29.

I wanted to keep the RRW but it was to wide for tyga fairings.

I've looked at fitting a ZXR400 rad as I think it looks quite nice... Any problems with the size, mounting points and hoses?

Anyone got experience of the new radiators advertised on eBay for around 60 quid, from shanghai? I have just looked at mine and it's scrap, i would prefer to just change it with as little hassle as poss but I am on a tight budget. it's also flung green slimy mess all over the bike so I have a load of cleaning to do! Tanks and carbs off job, love it!

I assume i fill up with coolant through the expansion tank? There isnt a cap on the radiator? which has confused me. How do i bleed the air out?

Nc23's dont have filler caps on the radiator, if you take the tank off you will see the filler/thermostat housing above the air box

lifesaver - i would have been attempting to fill up through the expansion tank !!!

lol not a problem, it would of took you a long time to fill up using expansion tank lmao, when rad is full just top up the expansion tank to the fill mark, start it up let it warm up and double check levels ;)
After its cooled down a bit obviously lol dont want burnt face from the hot water

well, i have received and fitted the radiator.

It was £60 delivered from China and I have to say i was expecting the worst but am more than pleasantly suprised by it. It is a lot lighter than the old one, but seems to be the same size so its prob not as sturdy. The aluminium is softer as i could bend the tabs with a bit of force where required. It is finished well.

In terms of going on, the rad fan fitted with a bit of jiggery pokery and the main brackets were all in the right place. It wasnt just plug n play but to be honest it is excellent for the money. I couldnt find a second hand one so i was forced to buy this but so glad i did now.

The only thing that was a pain was the pipe for the top hose is at a slightly diff angle to the original which make fitting a bit awkward but hardly difficult to work around.

Filling up with coolant etc is however a pain in the ar5e on a nc23 - why on earth would you put a filler cap under the Tank ?

Cause its alot quick to just wip the seat and tank of instead of having to take the fairings off to get at a filler in the rad ;) lol
