I'm currently using Dunlop A13, wear has been great as long as your suspension and pressures are set correctly. I'm on 4 days and looking to get another 4 out of them - granted it's started to cool off now. I found in the 30+ degrees they would kind of overheat and get greasy, i had my pressures rise over 7 psi..

I'm currently using stock sizes but looking to go to 120/70 for better steering and maybe 160 for more tire choices/easier transitioning to lean.

Not sure how far they would take you pace wise as i'm only at a low medium pace atm and everyone else seems to be using slicks lol

Thanks for that feedback - have you had any experience on other tyres at the track that you can provide a comparison to?

I think that I will be going with the Alpha 13's as they seem perfect for my needs.

I haven't used other tires yet on the track - i have seen Michelin power 3 used as well as Dunlop d211 dot tire.. both being sticky tires as well..

Just adding onto this, used warmers for the first time on a cold day (5-14") and set the psi to 33 hot on the warmers. Got really awesome wear with a bit of sliding but probably because of the damp/cold conditions..

Hi,
Where did you get your A13's from? Everywhere I've looked don't seem to have the stock front 120/60 17r but do have 120/70. Has anybody tried the later on a RVF? If so, what are your thoughts compared to standard?

Based in the UK
Nick

I have a set of A13's on my NC30 (nc35 rear wheel) and use the 120/70 profile front.

Compared to a 60 profile I can't really feel that much difference myself, it has however been a while since I used a 60 profile!

Excellent tires though, nice and grippy with excellent feedback.

Our RVF400R has been languishing in the shed for about 6 years (the curse of small children), anyway I'm sorting it out again but undoubtedly the tyres are going to be past it, I think they're 8 or so years old now...

It has BT090's on, an awesome tyre for its time but surely things have moved on, although you can I think still get them. Bridgestone now recommend the S21 (the Bridgestone website actually says the BT090's are not available in the correct front size). Has anyone tried the S21? How does it compare to the BT090 or does anyone have a better suggestion for mostly track riding (in the UK).

Not on the road, but felt vague on track and felt like they slid a lot, but not in a controlled way. This was my mates feedback from a go on an SP1 with them on. He was not impressed at all. That was a gorgeous day at anglesey with the Classic Bike Trackdays a couple of weekends a go. My mate can ride too, and has good feel for what a bike is doing.

I'm seeing this on cambriantyres.co.uk about the BT92:
This tyre was discontinued at the start of 2018, so please see the BT50 as a direct replacement.
Anyone tried this BT50?
