Strange problem after fork assembley on my NC29.

Post by Crazy_German » Wed Mar 28, 2012 5:31 pm

Hi Guys,

Yesterday evening I´ve just build in my freshly overworked forks with springs from GF Racing, set to my weight and exactly machined spacers for them.

So assemble them was no problem. But now I installed the forks after they lied around in my workshop for about 1 month. just found no time till yesterday.

the problem occures when I mounted the forks in the triple tree clamps and installed then my preload adjusters. I turned the one on the left fork about 5 times clockwise and didn´t noticed that the adjuster just saged into the top of the fork by turning it.
Now the adjuster is so deep in the fork that only the slotted screw stands out of the top the fork. Could I have done anything wrong when assembleing the forks? I think I didnt tighten up the fork top to the recommented torque but it was tight enoug that it was fully screwed into the fork.

any advice would be great.
