Spoked wheels for NC24, possible ?

Had a bit of a search and was wondering if can get a set of spoked wheels which will bolt straight onto an NC 24 ? thanks :)

I thought the 24 had spokes as standard ??? As long as your prepared to pay a couple of grand I don't see a problem

i think he means proper spokes.




Your going to struggle with a rear as it's a Single sided swinger.

If you fitted the NC21 swining arm to the NC24 frame (direct bolt on) this would give you more chances.

Nothings going to be straight foward.

The GB wheels in the picure above have smaller tyres and you'd need slightly different spacers.. plus the rear hub is drum brake.

This must be a looks over function exercise
However - you need something like a supermoto wheel conversion so that will probably lead you to Talon hubs and Excel rims.

You'll need to know the spindle sizes, hub width disc offset (or total width disc to disc calculated on the centre lines), rear sproket offset.
As a guess I reckon you'll drop a £ grand on this fairly easily with discs

Yeah, this is going to get expensive... be an interesting project though!

Essentially you can make anything fit into anything, but it comes down to cost and time - even getting plain spacers made up can be difficult if you don't have easy access to a lathe.

You'll need a conventional swingarm from an NC21, because I don't think spoked wheels would be able to handle the stresses put on the drive side alone. And you'll have to do some serious research into suitable OE wheels, and make new brackets for your brake calipers, and realign the drivechain... it might be cheaper to get it all custom made, as the previous poster suggester.

But if you DO succeed, I'd like to see it.

The wheels of the GB500TT (above bike) would acutally be quite easy to fit (providing you have the NC21 swinging-arm)

The rear is drum brake so you'd need the GB brake arm and lever and fashion something between the two.

The only reason I wouldn't use those wheels is that the tyres are 90/90-18 and 110/90-18.

The GB would go around 110mph flat out so speed isn't the issue, you can get TT900GP dunlops too which are pretty good in the dry, but I don't think the handling would be the same with an 18" front as well.

The later XBR500 also had the same wheels as the GB500TT... i've seen sets forsale for aroudn 40gbp with the necessary ancillaries (cush-drive /brake hub / spidles ) i'd start there if you dont have a huge budge.
