seat lock , can i get into it!

yo!

just a quick one, can i breakinto the seat lock, iv got a lock but no key, want to open it up and grind down its locking pins so it opens with my key. done it before on other bikes but iv removed all i can from the reverse of the lock.....its not budging, is the silver outter front hiding anything which will help me remove the barrel?? befor i bash it off and find nothing.....

Not sure how it'd be done without destroying the lock really unless you can find someone to pick it?

so you cant get into the lock anyway?? if i could get into it i could prob sort it, looks like it will come apart but dont know how.

would it not be easier to get a new / used set of keys + locks off ebay?

not at those prices mate. tbh you never really need to go into the seat, storage space isnt exactaly useful lol but i do remember struggling to remove my ass fairing without being able to remove my seat. so i bought an old lock and was hoeing i could get inside and sort it so my ignition key would turn it, even if i just bust it through!? like with a screwdriver, so anykey would work will do.

Ive seen it done on an ignition lock so cant see why it couldnt be done on the seat lock if you can get into it that is

If you reach up the left hand side between the fairing and subframe (not much room) you can pull the cable to undo the seat. You can probably even grab it with some pliers.

That worked for me before when I locked the keys under the seat! :roll:

Oops ignore my post, didn't read the OP properly. Buy a cheap lockset lol.
