NC23 Rev Counter

hi CBR 400 People

I have an nc23 RRJ 1988, the original CDI unit burnt out so I replaced with a de-restricted one, now its up and running but the rev counter doesn’t work, does anyone know if this would be due to the CDI unit or break in the circuit
