RVF stupid question

Post by em2evol » Sat Oct 22, 2011 12:37 am

I think it's probs a stupid question but what's the hole in the RVF frame on the left side? My old RVF didn't have a screw in it but my new one does... It's really long - tried taking it out but put it back because it just kept coming!

Really?! Oh... Haha, well at least I know if I take out the massive long screw it isn't going to make the engine fall out or something now! Thanks Paul ;)

I've seen photos of an Ohlins steering damper fitted there, like Phil said. I had no idea why it was there (the hole) myself until I saw the damper screwed in there, so its not a stupid question :-)

tax disc holder on my NC30 too, no need for a damper, it's the slowest steering bike I've ridden in a good while, and that's no bad thing! with good suspension you'd have to be trying pretty hard on the road to need one. pity the same can't be said of the tax disc!

slowest steering ? you wanna try a 916 then. start to turn a week before the corner then the bugger tips in once its on the move and stays planted.
i used to have a 916 you know, i think someone on here has it now ;)
