Front Brake Pads
Had a search, people seem to be recommending Nissin pads? Can't find any on the bay, I think Rick-O has some but ideally I'd like to pick some up today from a local bike shop. Anyone know anywhere in the east midlands that sell sets for the Jap NC30 front calipers? Failing that I'll use Rick-O.
Keep seeing loads of 'GOLD' sets, they any good?
Cheers,
Dan

Re: Front Brake Pads
From what I've read on here, you should avoid Gold Fren pads like the plague. RO does OEM Nissin pads but they're about £45 IIRC. Bought some a couple months back.

Re: Front Brake Pads
Looked on a few other forums and read to avoid GOLD, if I recall I bought a set for my rear brake and they wouldn't fit in the rear fucking caliper :@
I've heard good thing about EBC HH - if I can find any of them locally I'll go grab some, but seeing as no bike shop caters to the NC30 I may just get some OEM's from Rick-O.
When looking for brake pads, do they have to be for the NC30? I thought the calipers would be common across a lot of bikes, any other bikes share calipers with the 30?

Re: Front Brake Pads
I've some Ferodo pads in the garage - bought them for racing but I use the bigger brakes these days so they never got fitted.

Just buy them from your local Honda dealer and if your a member of the Honda Owners Club you'll get up to 15% discount depending on the dealer.

Re: Front Brake Pads
Most local bike shops that can order in parts will be able to get you some.. only the big Honda dealers like Lings et al are likely to keep them in stock.
Lings / DSS / LBS / Rick-O
All NC30's use the same pads so just order either off the net or at your local shop.
Standard Nissin are the best... at around 50 for all 4 it's a good price.. over here I had to pay 73.50 for 4 pads that were the same quality as the Nissin ones so be happy :D

Got an email back from Rick-O with new pricelist, can someone tell me difference between these;
Honda/Nissin GG (high metal content organic) £23/pr
Honda/Nissin HH (sintered metal) £23/pr

I can't recall what the NC30 came with originally.. i'm thinking Sintered but would be best to check.iDemonix wrote:Got an email back from Rick-O with new pricelist, can someone tell me difference between these;

The difference is what the pad is made from.. the HH pads have bits of copper etc in them which helps them to bite harder but they also wear the disc faster. Some need to 'warm up' to work too.

First website I could find that has a comparision of pad types to save me typing it up

Re: Front Brake Pads
GG are for steady eddie and people who aren't going to be getting mad on the brakes.
HH pads are durable and have a higher mu.. So get them,
GG for the back and HH for the front and you'll be right. Nissin HH pads are superb.
