what to get?

ok i have just sold my 50, for £1100 and want to treat the bike

iv got on order

new indicators
new mirrors
clear db screen
HRC rersets
fresh painted Hislop Rep 91 panels

now what else should I get with the new cash, i was thinking nice clip ons but I fancy getting a usd conversion kit as a winter project so they will not be needed after that, and the bike will hopefully be on the road soon so i dont want anything complex to fit like suspension parts,

what do you recomend?

fitting a rear shock aint exactly complex.
that would be the first thing id get,
then prob a 17" rear wheel to go with it.

what exhaust you got on it?

I know you don't want to but I'd spend my money on the suspension.

yep suspension first, then get some fireblade or sp1 calipers and master cylinder, with some EBC hh pads, then i would go with getting a good half system and hit the dyno

+1 for suspension mods, your standard kit will be shagged by now. get a rick oliver kit for the front and a new shock for the rear. Depending on your budget a nitron full race shock weighs in at about £600 if my memory serves me right or go for a aprilia rs250 shock which can be had for as low as £50, have it rebuilt and re-sprung for under £200 and you got a decent setup. I have modded aprilia shocks in both my track and road RVF's and they perform great.

Having had the opportunity to try an NC30 with std (but sorted) calipers, and two NC35's (one std sorted brakes, the other with CBR600RR calipers) back to back the CBR600RR/fireblade M/C combo is fantastic, best brakes I've used. Personally I prefer the Nissin (oem honda) pads for road use though.

Agreed. the fancy stuff can wait. No point having a bike that looks good but doesn't work very well...

If nothing done yet to the bike, and you've got plans to do something, I would suggest:

1: suspension (example: front done with Rick Oliver kit, rear RS250 mod)
2: braking (an upgrade to brembo/nissin mods)
3: power (aftermarket half or full exhaust system, correct carbs set-up, quality dynotime etc)
4: cosmetics (panels, covers, screen, indicators, etc. etc.)

well im gona be on a 33bhp restrictor kit so performance mods are out, at east for a bit, the bike has a scorpion carbon slip on pipe, i do intend to upgrade the rakes in the future as a weekend project but seeing as i havn't ridden the bike on the road properly (legally) yet (test on monday) so i want to get used to the bike before i go upgrading parts (or i wont appreciate the increase)

but i do plan to sort the hole front end;

RO fork kit, wave disc's, rc51 calipers, braided lines, r1 (or some other kind of radial) m/c

then with the rearsets i will need a pressure brake switch so i may as well fit a braided line at the same time.

I have fitted a rear shock before an although it is a bit of an effort to jack the rear up (no abba stand) i would be happy to doit again if the gains will really be worth it.

Piece of piss, go to halfords and buy some cheap axle stands (about 10quid a pair), fit one under each foot peg, jobs a good un. Works best with rearsets but still works with original pegs you just have to be more accurate with placement.
