Thought i would share with you my trial seat to prevent me hitting the tank with certain parts of my anatomy which i would rather not mention
I've only just aquired the bike so perhaps my riding style is not yet suited to the VFR but every time i've been out i have ended up sliding into the tank and it's not been the most enjoyable of experiences

Thanks to mattUKNC i got a spare donor seat and set about it.
In addition to the Alcantara like material i added another layer of foam for those long journeys
The result feels very good so far but that's only sitting on it in the garage as it won't stop fookin raining
I'll put some pics up so you can see the result and i'll post the riding difference when i get the chance to get on it

I have a problem When I open the throttle full, I slide back coz of the power lol

Then when you shut off ya knackers hit the tank ha ha!
Looks good, I have some spare sponge/padding and considered this for my '30 but the key lock is there to remove the rear cowling.

where did you get the material to cover the seat and is that salty sticks AND onion rings in one bag ???

I had the ball crushing problem when i first got the bike. Gripping the tank with your knees soon becomes second nature!

The material is from Dunelm mills, it's a manmade suede but if it works well i will replace with the real stuff or Alcantara as should be easier to stretch on corners.
Good spot on the snacks bag but have to report they are in separate bags inside.

As i said i'll let you know if it works well or not, and correct, it is Kris's old Seed, absoloutely love it.

Weel overall i'm not planning to be out in the wet but if i recover it with better material i will add some Clingfilm under the cover so as the foam doesn't act like a sponge.

Yea maybe my riding style needs to be adapted to suit a smaller framed bike.

Well i'd like to confirm it works first in case i come home from a ride and find the seat cover torn or even missing

All you need is some material (available in most fabric shops) some foam if you want the seat thicker, some spray adhesive and a staple gun. took about an hour to do.

i wouldnt go so far as saying its anti slip and its a bad call if it rains but i have done a few, (excuse the mess in the pictures)
