Fit RR parts to Aero?

Post by AdrenalineJunky » Wed Mar 23, 2011 2:40 pm

Hi everyone, I just got a streetfigher NC23 Aero from eBay, it looks fit (polished frame, painted engine, GSXR750 tailsection, custom dash, motocross bars, dominator headlights, tiny indicators, custom 4-into-2 underneath-exit exhausts, custom paintjob - pictures soon!) and runs nicely BUT I already really don't like the skinny back wheel. Is it realistic to think about fitting a Tri-arm or Gull-arm swingarm and rear wheel? Can the Aero frame be fitted with these parts? Has anyone done this? Cheers to anyone who can help out here!

I can sort you out measurements of the pivot point of an nc29 'arm, but no idea how to measure or work out the suspension linkage geometries.
Arm is 212mm wide. 20mm pivot. 28mm roller bearing.

I should think the best thing would be to get hold of a cheap swingarm arm, offer it up and see what happens. If the arm fits then just fit the corresponding wheel. Might as well get the gullarm as the 17" wheel fits easiest then. Unless you like the look of the TriArm, or the linkages look more similar.

Mix and match is always good for a laugh :)
