nc29 - 39 tooth rear, is that all there is?

As it says in the title really, chaps and chapesses.

I only seem to be able to find 39 tooth rear sprockets for the nc 29. I am putting nc29 wheels on my CB-1, which usually comes with a 41 tooth rear sprocket. It shouldn't make much odds because a 160/60-17 tyre is "shorter" than a 140/70-17 so in the end it'll about balance out, but it still surprised me that you don't seem to be able to get any other sizes?

Yes.
You have to options:
1) Convert to 520.
2) Buy a sprocket for a CBR900 96-99 (same as some 600s) - requires modification. The mounting holes on the NC29 sprocket are 10.5mm dia.; 12.5mm on the 900 sprocket. Parus had some studs made up with a 12.5mm central section between each thread; I made some spacers to fit the standard sprocket studs. I suppose another option might be to drill and tap the threads in the sprocket carrier so you can use 12.5mm studs.

If you want a 42T CBR900 rear for the above I've got one I no longer need.

I think 525 is standard on both nc27 and nc29? Anyway, that one, as I am more interested in longevity than lightness.

A big THANK YOU!

Now there's an interesting idea. I have a spare CBR900 rear wheel in the garage, I could test the sprocket carrier on the nc29 wheel, never know, it might be as easy as that!

Not sure either way - but I probably should have specified - I have less than zero interest in alloy sprockets.

I'm 99.9% sure they don't, not in 525. Strange I know.

Good idea! Let us know the result.

What's even better, is that using that JT website I have figured out that if I can get that rear sprocket on, which I am sure it's possible, then the humble '04-'08 CBF500 uses the same front and rear sprockets as I would be using, so I could still pick up kits relatively cheaply rather than buying the component parts. Brilliant!

I got mine from GF and put a 15 40T combination on with a 520 pitch chain , I know Graeme had other rears as well including a 42T if I remember correctly as it's in one of my older posts .
