Rear Wheel Bearings, Mileage?

Post by Davez29 » Wed Oct 13, 2010 3:49 pm

While doing my chain I had a Roger Moore school of acting moment (raised eyebrow) I found a bit of a loose wheel, which I have pinned down to the bearings. I bought new ones from Wemoto and had them installed by a local shoppy around two years ago and in that time I have only done around 9000+ miles. I have no previous knowledge on how long they should last but that sort of mileage is not exactly much and the front bearings seem solid enough and were in when I bought the bike. Im a commuter and dont ride anywhere near the limits of the bike, infact its been known locally to see little old ladies in Micra's to have at least one CBR400 kill sticker emblazened upon their wings as they pass me yet again.

So what sort of mileage should I expect?

Pattern parts from Wemoto? Sounds about right then. They are shite quality.

Try DSS for genuine Honda bearings. Even their pattern parts are better quality then Wemoto.

I've had bearings last for over 40k miles before they need replacing.
