If it continues to leak after that then im going to call it quits i think as its taken me 4 months no and im still having issues

I cant even bleed the brakes up :( there is fluid down both braided hoses, the calipers have fluid pouring out them when you have the bleed nipples open but the lever is loose as anything but was fine before i changed the pistons to stainless ones (fitted for free by my local bike shop)

You don't need a running engine for an MOT... they dont' test emissions on a bike.

Fuel leaking into the engine sounds like the float valves aren't sealing.

This could be float heights if you've changed them but more than likely a sticking float valve.

Erm.. that guide is qiute straghtforward.

Turn the carbs upside down at an angle of about 45 degrees or so until the floats drop into the bowl, you dont' want them upside down as this compresses the little springey pin on the float needle.

Then measure from the base of the carb where the gasket seals to upto the top of the float and thats your height.

Those carbs are weird...

VD cabs.. I never did measure the bores but they looked a lot like 30mm's rather than 32's.

Needles are brass and quite short... 6UJ i think was stamped on them..

Sliders are flat bottomed and have been drilled out too.. I think they were off a racebike.. after looking at a spare set of carbs I think you probably could bolt some stacks onto it... will be interested to see how it runs though...

There is no way in hell that trumpets could fit to this, Also the brass bits and the screws look like they have never been touched so i think its a standard plate on there
Sorry to resurrect this post, but my carbs have the same sort of plate, with the screws and brass retainers and all; my bike's a 400-ZG, the 'naked' one.

I need to know if carbs from an NC24 or NC30 will fit an NC21, 'cos I've made quite a big problem for myself- I've broken the throttle cable pulley wheel...
